Morning coffee, traffic jams, late to work, after office meetings, client dinners, late night deliveries, parking problems, unbathed body that stinks of yesterday’s sweat surviving on last night’s saved up cold pepperoni pizza from the fridge and a lot more things that can people can do, used to be the routine for everyone. Unlike now, everyone is sitting at home and trying to wait it out so that the pandemic period can pass without getting affected. To adhere to that, governments have imposed a strict lock down for non-essential businesses. People venturing out for non-essential reasons are being pulled over by cops or the military and being sent to quarantine for 14 days. During this time, there are some measures to be taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Here are a few.

Social Distancing – It’s a common culture globally to shake hands, exchange hugswith people you know and meet. If you happen to bump into someone while you’re shopping, say your greetings from a distance and give in your disclaimer that you’re trying to maintain distance by not touching them or coming near them and people will respect that. Also, try using the Fyndeasy App to schedule your visit slot rather than waiting in lines to enter store.

Stay at home – It’s as simple as it sounds. You and you’re family need to stay at home because those working outside in the hospitals, banks, grocery stores are risking their lives so you could stay happy and unaffected. Do your bit and stay home. Recommend others to do the same.

Stay Safe – When and if you go out, be sanitized, masked and maintain a good distance from other people around. Obviously if you’re seen out, it can only be 2 reasons you’re out for, buying food or groceries and going to a hospital. When shopping, maintain at least 6ft of distance from your fellow shoppers and respect the rules of this lockdown, unlike games where people are keen on breaking rules for fun. Break the rules on this lockdown and you’ll get gifted with a 14 day enforced quarantine.

Virtual meetings – Whatever maybe the nature of your meeting, whether business or family, it needs to be virtual now. You can meet your distant family members, have long talks over a simple video or a conference call. Schools were closed for a small period of time and have now begun online classes for all students.

Flatten the Curve – If you adhere to these lockdown rules, you are very well contributing to flattening of the curve. This means that you are slowing down the fast spreading disease by staying home. Each day there are new cases that are being registered across cities and the government is taking precautions to limit and decrease the number of incoming cases. When people start staying home, the fresh affected cases are bound to go down, flattening the curve slowly and gradually.

Group gatherings or Meetings – Stepping out each day is non-essential and groceries can be brought in once every week. Avoid any kind of gathering outside, and includes restricting yourself from visiting any prayer houses whether it’s a Mosque, Church, Temple or a Synagogue. Pray at home, stay at home. It’s a small period of time which too shall pass.

Fyndeasy is actually an App that showcases businesses nearby using an AR featured mode. Using this App, you can find the essential stores that are open for business these days and it can help you book a slot for your visit, so you don’t have to wait in lines. Check it out here.
